Last Day Of 2009

Kyrell's school was opened for half a day today and my workplace too, so I thought might as well bring Kyrell to work with me, save me the trouble of fetching him at noon since I do not think I can go off on time.

Our office celebrated the end of 2009 with buy-in lunch. Black pepper crabs, Yam ring (with fruits), Pork ribs from Seafood Paradise + Sashimi and Sushi! I packeted Yong Tau Hu for Kyrell but he was so high and tired that he wasn't really in the mood to eat, only ate a small handfuls of them. Finally gave in to him and let him watch DVD at my work station while I finished the rest of the food (wasn't able to eat earlier because he was around) then get down to work :(
Kyrell then slept around 3pm+ and woke up when we were going off, must be exhausted!

Got my work done around 6pm+ and hubby came to fetch us to my mum's place... could have gone off earlier if not for the failure of our company server for the past 2 days argh.. lotsa emails to catch up and work to do before we are closed for the long weekend. Since our Germany office was closed today, not much can be done anyway.

But I did enjoy Kyrell's company with me, in holiday mood and really looking forward to the new year. Dec has always been an exciting and festive month to me.

Thinking back, 2009 has been really rocky to me.
First, Mum got sick in mid year and was admitted to hosp on 1 Jul, only to be diagnosed with (advance-stage 4) cancerous tumour and one of her (right) kidney is failing. To save her better (left) kidney, she has to undergo op immediately to have a tube attached externally (Percutaneous nephrolithotomy, or PCNL) to drain out her urine. Because of the kidney failure, the creatinine level is higher (900+) then norm (120).. sorry I do not know the units of measurement...which means, the toxic level in her body is dangerously high. Over the next months, the level has reduced considerably to acceptable range in Nov. Then she went through another op in end Jul for her stoma (external bowel bag) before she can start her radiotheraphy in Aug. So from 21 Aug to 9 Oct, she went through about 7 weeks of daily treatments, except weekends. Next 2 months were regular check-ups with various doctors and results seems pretty good so far. No complication or fever etc *fingers crossed*

The trips to the SGH & NCC for check-ups, operations, treatments etc, all in the high of H1N1 (Jul-Sep) outbreak makes visiting really troublesome. We need to wear a mask at all times (I bought kids' size mask for Kyrell but he wouldn't wear them for long), sterilised our hands and take our temperature. Anyone with temp or sick will be turned away. And the hosp practised 2-visitor-only policy so each time our family member visits the ward, we have to think of ways to maximise the visit :p

Because my mum was unwell, I have to bring Kyrell to work with me for the whole of Jul then half day in Aug after we enrolled him for half-day care with Learning Vision near my workplace. It was not easy to let Kyrell adjust though teachers commented that he was doing well. The cries whenever I left him just makes my heart break each time. He got pretty sticky to me for the first two months. Then having grown attached to the teachers, he was progressing and adapting well. Got confident and started bullying smaller sized kids... haha... Eventually stopped crying in Nov but now back again when he got promoted to N1 in Dec.

The numerous trip to the hospitals and ferrying Kyrell from school had totally 'disrupted' my rountine. My backache is killing me from carrying Kyrell, walking and doing chores. Not to mention that Kyrell and I were also constantly down with cough and flu since he started school :(

So, what's my resolution/wish for 2010? It will be for my mum to recover! Free from the cancer cells, so lets pray for better results this year. I also hoped that my family will be blessed with good health and happiness. Hubby work to be smooth sailing and that Kyrell will continue to be an obedient boy. Maybe I can start getting my driving license and try for a 2nd baby haha...

Shoes... Lost??

Went to fetch Kyrell at school this evening and realised his pair of crocs shoes were not in his cubbies, this is the first thing I looked for when I reached so I looked around but still could not see it. So when I went in, the 1st thing I asked him was his shoes. Kyrell looked at me bewildered and said "where?" hehe... then I panicked, where's the shoes?! Could it be missing? Taken by mistake or worst, stolen?! Afterall the pair + jibbitz cos almost $60....

After searching in Kyrell classrooms cubbies and underneath the shoes cubbies, we still could not find it. Its getting late, we gotta leave so I told 陈 老 师 about it and she said that she will checked with the parents tomorrow. Apparently it is quite common to have lost shoes then I said, but I have labelled his shoes?? Still, it happens..sob sob~

While at the school gate, one mummy offered to send us to nearest MRT but I turned down, the bus stop is just opposite the main road though it will take us about 10-15 mins to walk there, it wasn't really on the way for the mummy :)

So I carried Kyrell and while walking, Kyrell said he wants to walk and kepting asking where his shoes were, considering that I just had a fell this afternoon and my legs were still hurting + I could not be carrying him all the way home, I thought it would be wise to get him a new pair of shoes. And I am thinking of crocs because his current size 7 is getting abit tight. Went to one of the sports shop @ Velocity, they do carry some crocs shoe and found the current model he is wearing (in different colours), I let Kyrell tried it on but size 8 proves to be too loose.. manz.. Kyrell does seem to like it, kept insisting wearing the colour which he has just lost :p

Since there isn't any other model to chose from, we went to the crocs boutique at Plaza Singapura. See if we have better luck. And no, there isn't any other model which I fancied so again, I let Kyrell tried the one which we tried earlier, he walked abit and the shoes came off. Looks like he is not ready for size 8. So we went to Avenue to get a pair of shoes which he has gotten last month, in another colour. We walked around abit and I gave Kyrell some bread to eat.

By the time we are ready to leave, we were both tired and hungry and it was already 830pm!! We were neither here or there so I called up hubby to see if he is done with work soon, we will go over to his office and wait for him.

When we reached, hubby wasn't ready yet, so we waited at the lobby for another 20 mins. Kyrell was running around and because it was empty and has high ceiling, Kyrell was happily shouting and enjoying listening to his echo. Eventually hubby came down and told us to go up for awhile cos his colleagues wanted to see Kyrell. Kyrell was not shy and even said hello and performed his "yoyoyo" moved to his colleagues haha... and he gladly accepts the chocolate that they gave. By the time we left his workplace, it was already 9pm+!! And we have not even had dinner :(

Kyrell running around in the lobby with his new shoes!

Itchy hands couldn't stop touching and going near the gantry

Of late, he likes lifting his shirt up and show off his "big" tummy :p

Farewell Teacher Yati

Tomorrow is the last day of teacher Yati with LV @ Gentle Road so we took the opportunity to take some pix with her.

As I have mentioned before, Kyrell has grown very attached to teacher Yati, he has stopped crying in Nov, can even happily bid me farewell. After school or on weekends, he will mention teacher Yati's name. But now that he is at N1 and not in her class, he has started crying again :(

I shudder at the thought without her, I wonder if Kyrell will miss her...

She is a dedicated and responsible teacher and its a great lost to the centre (and the children), I wished her all best in the next school she goes to!~

Wiping

While I busied in the kitchen, Kyrell pulled out the wet wipes from the table next to his playyard and started "wiping"!! He must have pulled out about 10 pcs of it, all only touching his "house" then he just threw on the floor... all the while saying "help mummy wipe" or "baby wiping house/door" *faint*

Thanks for helping, baby.. but you are wasting mummy's wipes and I have to end up clearing the mess keke..

Singapore Science Centre + Body Worlds

We decide to spend the XMAS at the SSC since it has been ages we last went and Kyrell has never been there. We reached around 3pm, bought tix then went to the cafe for a lunch, we were all famished!! After that we went to the science centre to explore, Kyrell absolutely loves it because there were so many buttons to press, things to touch and play, sounds and lights, all very new and interesting to him (and to us too) HAHAHA!! Even though it he was tired, he was still running around energetically and even refused to leave.... We bought the tix to BodyWorlds but could not go in as we reached there around 530pm and they were going to close at 6pm.

The staffs advised us to extend the tix and return again for the exhibition. So we are back again (only Body Worlds) on 27 Dec!

All set to go out!

Waiting for the food...

We ordered a waffle with ice cream for Kyrell

Back again on 27 Dec.. he wants to wear his watch and sunglass :p

It's Christmas!

Kyrell's godpa Wilxion came over to our house to pass him a XMAS pressie today, a purple striped polo tee, yippie! Our fav colour heee... thanks bro! Wilxion and I came a long way.. we were in the same pri school since 10 years old then in the same sec.. we kinda lost contact after that until we started working. We do not meet up much, maybe once a year but the bond is there.. afterall, not many ppl gets to keep in touch with their pri friend. I am lucky that I have a few to keep :)
So I would like to take this opportunity to greet you a "Merry Christmas to you and your love ones, may joy be with you always! Treasure what you have now and enjoy each day like no other!" LOVE XXX

Nice packaging!

Another pressie to open... its Kyrell's birthday pressie from my colleagues, thanks Jewel and Fiona!

Christmas Party @ LV

Kyrell's school held a xmas party in school this morning. Every kid had to contribute a present ($5) to be exchanged and bring a potluck (Halal) food item, I chose to bring ice cream from the list.

The children from upper class performing for everyone :)

Kyrell getting comfortable because I am staying behind

Rolling on the floor *duh*

Female Santa?

Lingering around the food section - again! Haha..

With Santa!

Finally he grabbed hold of the muffins (before everyone starts eating!).. and he must have gobbled down 4 of them that day :p

The school was opened for half day today and it was raining heavily when the party's almost over, I could not imagine how I am going to bring Kyrell back with me to my workplace with so many bags, holding an umbrella and carrying him! But Becky came to my rescue!! We were supposed to meet at 1pm but she was early and called me, told me that she's driving to the school to pass me the XMAS pressie, then she suggested driving us all back to my workplace since it was still rainging and she's done for the day, thank you girl!!

Cookies which Becky has made for us.. yummy! We finished it all by the afternoon hee..

The school gave each of the kids a pressie too... guessed what it is...

A sling bag!! Now Kyrell can put his little goodies when he goes on school trip!

Kyrell got a present from Dzulfiqar during the gift exchange, it was a beautiful purple bath towel from Barney's collections, love it!

Fooling around in my office...

Know what he is looking at? Elmo DVD from my portable DVD player :)

Then Kyrell took an almost 3 hr's nap from 3-6pm on the swivel chair (stroller was not here so I joined 2 chairs together), good boy, woke up and it was play time again :p

Trying to put on my jacket hehe.. I like this pix!

Getting tired...

A goodie bag from Kyrell's classmate Daniel :)

I worked till about 7pm while waiting for hubby to come fetch us then we went over to my mum's place.. nothing happening or celebration..BOOO....

Nevertheless, we hereby wished everyone a MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS, enjoy the celebrations! HO HO HO!!!
