The day is lined with activities, in the morning its Kindermusik trial class at Tanglin Mall. Kim and bb Mal was there too. This is actually the 2nd time that I have brought Kyrell there, like the 1st time, I am disappointed that the instructor is not very engaging.
After the lunch with Kim and family, we left for Central Mall at Clarke Quay. The only reason we were there was because my colleague Levan has told me about the Elmo cupcakes that was sold in one of the bakery there! We have to get that, for Kyrell's lunar birthday, to be in line with his Sesame St theme which we are planning to hold for his actual birthday :) So it will be Elmo and Sesame St for his 1st year.. what's next for his 2nd? I cannot imagine for now haha...
Anyway, we did manage to get the cupcakes from the shop, it was adorable! We have a mini cake cutting and some chinese 'rituals' performed at home - just hubby, me and our darling.
At the Kindermusik class, taken from outside the room
After getting the cupcakes, we went to starbucks to have a cuppa while Kyrell yak non-stop :p
Playing with his cheerios
This is the cupcakes we bought, cute right?! :)
With the #1 candle
Kyrell looking curious!
Nevermind the background ok hehe..
Can't keep his hands away from it :p
Having a pc of his cake
Ok, this is the 'ritual' which I mentioned, nothing superstitious, we did it just for the fun. We prepared some items as shown below, and each are supposed to represent a career or his personality. We will let Kyrell crawl towards them and the 1st item he picked is said to be his future career. Then he go on to pick the 2nd and 3rd items.
Example : stethescope = doctor, calculator = finance or good with $, book = studious, the veg ('qing cai') = diligent ('qing lau'), drumstick = boss/never have to worry about food on the table
Crawling towards the items
And the 1st item he picked is....a stethescope!
Next is calculator...
And the last is a book :)
By now, he is getting very restless, tired, hot and diaper lined with his poo!!
For a moment, we thought he might chose the drumstick, big and greasy and smelling nice haha... but we did not end his 'misery' here, we continued with our last act and that is to step on the 'ang gu kueh' which we have bought. The rationale is that after stepping on it, he will starts to walk soon :D
Oily feet!
