Kyrell's 1st Birthday Bash - 07 Dec 08

We held a small party for Kyrell's 1st at Paulaner Bräuhaus, Millenia Walk, over their Sunday German Brunch - Buffet Style.

We have been thinking about where to hold the party :
- our house is out as I do not want to do the clean up after everyone leaves
- chalet is out as we are too late to do the booking with all the holiday seasons going
- function room in hotel is also out since ours is really a small group and they are usually quite costly

So we extend our search to restaurants and eventually settled with Paulaner because for the fact that they have a kid's corner where children can play while adults eat (not that we have alot of kids guests haha!) and the venue seems bright and cosy and they have a rather wide spread of dishes!

Our guest list is really only a handful of people, our immediate families (but hubby family was out of town) and a couple of our close friends. We kept it low as we do not want to have so many people and in the end, tire ourselves out and also of course, budget constraint.

The theme naturally falls onto "Sesame Street" because Kyrell loves Elmo! I bought some helium balloons and personalised banner for the event. I also ordered a mini cake and cuppies from Little House of Dreams. Nothing too elaborate :)

The morning started off with us loading the gadgets (filled up balloons, helium tank, cake etc) into our car and then picked my parents and sis up. We reached the restaurant and quickly 'decorated' it. Soon, friends started coming. It was only a 2-3 hrs event and (I hope) everyones' feeling comfortable. I have also prepared some goodies bag to be given, together with a picture of darling Kyrell.

All in all, I think it was quite a success, though there is less then 20 guests, I was beat up at the end, with no lunch!!
