My Birthday!

I turned 34 today, I can't say that I am not scared by the numbers because in a few years time, I will hit 40! Ok lets not get to that first heee...

At this age, I am not at my best, in all aspect!!

Physically - I am tired all the time and do get sick quite frequently now.

Mentally - I am happy with Kyrell around but well, every family has its own set of probs so I am not going to dwell in it.

So lets hope that things will only get better and we will have more happy days to come by :)

Today hubby needs to work so I brought Kyrell to the zoo alone, just found out yesterday that birthday girl/boy gets to go in FREE! And because Kyrell is under 3yo so he doesn't have to pay, that means we only have to pay for food and the fare back later!!

We arrived at the zoo near noon, had KFC meal (me) while Kyrell had fish porridge which we packet from the stall near our house, Kyrell especially liked their porridge!! After about an hour, we entered the zoo. Kyrell at this point is getting abit tired already.

We saw the tree top cotton monkeys, parrots, otters, hippos, white tigers and chimps before heading to the KidzWorld, it was slightly after 2pm and when asked if he wanted milk, Kyrell said yes. I thought it would be good to let him take a short nap 1st. We wander in the shop, looking at the toys and Kyrell sat at the kiddy ride when it started raining heavily! We stayed on for another 15 mins and Kyrell poo-ed then the rain has turned drizzling. So we made a dash to the KFC and seek shelter, gave Kyrel grapes before going to the kids changing room to change his diaper. But instead of giving him milk to sleep, I changed him in his swim suit and let him play at the waterplay. He was abit scared at first then got bolder, climbing up to the slide and make his way down. He wanted me to hold his hands from where I was standing at the end of the slide then he saw some older kids doing "stunts", he wanted to follow, so he tried to slide down stomach flat down *faint*

Because I need to look after Kyrell at the waterplay, I did not snap any photo, this was taken after his fair share (30mins) of playing with the water, his suit is getting too small for him especially the pants, cannot pull all the way up!

Bought this water gun at the retail shop there, about $1+ and he loves it~

Day Out With Veronica and Dayna

Met up Veron and her girl Dayna at Junction 8 this afternoon. Dayna has class at CPF Building until 3pm and hubby happens to be working and so thought its a good time to meet up to chat.

Here's what we did today :

3pm+ : Veron & Dayna joined us at the cafe in Junction 8 after Dayna's class, hubby left for work
4pm+ : left Junction 8 after having meals with Kyrell, hop onto Ikshan's car and decides to go to City Square at Farrer Park. On the journey, both Dayna and Kyrell fell asleep hence we stopped somewhere to let them sleep on before we proceed to City Square. Veron and I chatted in the car.

6pm+ : 2 hrs passed and both kiddos finally woke up! We proceeded with the drive to the mall.

7pm : reached the City Square but the queue to the car park was so jam-packed that we finally entered at around 8pm :O

8pm : dinner at a Japanese Italian Family Restuarant. food was good with reasonable price range. Kyrell had rice with corns, some veggies and fries (grilled) + some grapes which I have brought from home. To finish off the meal, we ordered a chocolate cake yummy! He self-fed and enjoyed himself! Dayna even commented to her parents that didi is so small and can feed himself :p

9pm+ : after dinner, we walked around the mall and tried to check out the stores available but we did not have the chance to go to all levels because both kiddos were running around and playing while we mummies were trying to catch up and took their photos.. hehe...

10pm+ : Dayna warmed up to Kyrell after some time and when we were about to leave (Ikshan gave us a lift), she grew sad and wanted to continue playing with didi. She even said that she likes didi.. aw... so sweet! Next time girl...

PS: When Veron consoled Dayna that we will meet up again, Dayna said don't want next time, tomorrow ok? :D

* Lunch With Your Toddler *

It Parents Day today, I did not know until I saw the invites given by Kyrell's school. They are extending invites to the parents to come dine with the kids during their lunch hour! What splendid idea :) Their lunch hour is from 1130-1230pm. When I arrived at 1135pm, Kyrell was already having his lunch and quite alot of the parents came too.. I would say about 70%??

I managed to chat with Micah's and Reyanna's mummy, both nice lady. Micah's mum enquired about the iron-on label which I have used on Kyrell's uniform. She wanted to get too because, Micah's school shorts was thought to be misplaced weeks back, they got Kyrell's short instead but realised its not Micah's when his mummy saw the label. She thought it was cool... we knew from the teachers that the kids do take out their clothes to 'show off' while waiting to be showered haha... sometimes, they will take each other's towel, and we will know during washing.

It has happened a few times for me already~!

I enjoyed myself alot because I get to see Kyrell during his meal time, obviousely he's happy too, and I learnt something about him while talking to the teachers, here's what :

1) He plays mostly with boys (Micah and Andrew), not really with girls

2) He is like a "little teacher" in class, he will be the first to inform teacher of anyone who

misbehaves haha..

3) He is beginning to speak more manadarin words.. sometimes with mixture of english words

4) He eats alot though picky on certain food

5) Getting more vocal now.. principal told me that the centre if full of his voice *gulps*

6) Getting more 'active' now and I do not mean it in a good way, he climbs around now and his actions are usually very fast, so much so that the teachers cannot stop him before he did it!

7) Likes to put things into his mouth :(

8) He is not that afraid of Dzul anymore, able to sit beside him and play

(for those who are not aware : Kyrell has told me on numerous occassions in Feb that Dzul has hit him, sometimes he will point to me on his arm or head. Intially, I did not do anything about it then after a few times of "complaining", I realised that he has gotten afraid of going to school. Once, when we just reached and were standing at the school gate, he looked frightened and looked around, then said "any Dzulfiqar around?" OMG I think this is quite bad already and when I fetch him in the evening, I noticed that he seem to be avoiding Dzul whenever he is around. So I asked the teacher if they knew anything about these incidents. They said no, they did not see Dzul hit Kyrell and if they did not see it and it actually happened, Kyrell would have cried/whined and they will know eventually. Because Kyrell does cry at slightest pain. True.

But being Kyrell's mum, naturally I would chose to believe him (not that I doubted the teachers!) and protect him. I think it may have happened, at least once, somehow no one saw it, and not being able to differentiate the concept of time, Kyrell would have kept replaying that one time as multiple times. I hope it did not happened of course but I would give him benefits of doubt. What would it make me if I do not believe my 2 yo toddler and not protect him when he voiced out being bullied right? I hope by talking to the teachers, I could put a stop to this too, what happens if it got too serious one day? Then I would never forgive myself!! You know, even while I was in the class talking to the teachers (that was in Feb), Dzul has walked up to me and pinched me on my arm, it got bruised instantly!!! Just like that. And, that was not the 1st time to begin with ....)
