School + Phone + Hat

On the way to the school, Kyrell and I will read books, play his sticker book or draw something on his magnetic board. He has grown to like reading and drawing. Each time he will say 'read book' or 'draw baby' (draw baby because the 1st time I drew, I drew a boy which is him - baby - so now he will say 'draw baby' whenever he wants to draw).

This morning I tried drawing a crab the 1st time, not too bad, at least Kyrell can recognise it and said '螃 蟹' hehe...

Just outside the school...

Some photo-taking to distract him. Although Kyrell has stopped crying when I left him at the school, he will still cling onto me and repeatedly say 'mummy'

Back at my office, sleeping soundly...

I really should count my blessings, Kyrell has been able to sleep for about 3 hrs during his nap at my office.

Talking on the phone.. with dad dad

HAT - His different variation of that! First, there's the real hat/cap then there's basket, bucket and now diaper *faint*

Denim cap from Huggies, given by the cashier @ Cold Storage, cool!

Short Sentences

Kyrell's progress in speech is growing very fast lately, much to our astounishment sometimes. He can remember some of the words which we have taught him once or long ago. He is also able to link some words he knows to form a short sentence.

Here's some examples of short sentences that Kyrell can say :

1) Uncle wear helmet
2) Gor gor ride bicycle
3) Mummy wear bra (oops)
4) Baby fall down (baby here refers to himself)
5) Dad dad/Auntie etc 抱 抱 不 要 or mai (teochew)
6) Baby dancing
7) Mummy pain pain/crying (when he saw bruises on me or when I bumped onto something)
8) Auntie exercise
9) Mummy 跑 步 hurry hurry
10) Baby eat dinner/lunch
11) Dad dad car dirty.. mummy wipe
12) Uncle wipe car
13) Mummy office over there
14) Hold for mummy
15) Baby play piano
16) Uncle play drum
17) Baby pom pom/fall down ah mum place or pom pom mummy office

Some cute conversations :
Kyrell : Dad dad moustache where?
Mummy : Where?
Kyrell : Everywhere (!!)
We have corrected him and now he will reply moustache is at "chin" (phew)

Mummy : Kyrell, where is bacteria?
Kyrell : Everywhere!

Kyrell : Singapore flag!
Mummy : Where?
Kyrell : Over there!
Mummy : Oh yes...
Kyrell : Tattoo where?
Mummy : Where?
Kyrell : Washed away...

Mummy : Kyrell, what is the spelling of hat?
Kyrell : H.A.T.
Mummy : Good... then what is the spelling of bed?
Kyrell : H.A.T.
Mummy : ....

Despite only started for 3 weeks, he actually can self feed quite well.. surprise surprise.. his teacher commented that he is able to put the spoon with the food into his mouth and not have too much food dripping down. But after sometime, he will start playing around with the food keke...

Taken when we had a late lunch at Ajisen, Hougang Mall. Kyrell is having his home-cooked macaroni.

Oh, thanks for inviting, it was great to catch up with hubby's friends. Too bad forgot to take pix with everyone esp Eunice *doink*
Please do send us some pix whenever you can, we would love to find out the progress of Eunice.
Enjoy parenthood!

Here's my little stylo-milo little prince with his cool cool sunglasses keke..

Kyrell had a great time playing with Eddie & Angelin's girl Giselle (7 mths older then Kyrell), he kept saying "Giselle jie jie" even after the event heeee....

Right after the celebration and just before Kyrell's ACT 3 class, I went to collect my loots from another Dec mummy, loved the Dante Beatrix Kids Bag (Dino) which I have so decided to get another design (monkey)!! Check it out...

Kyrell was excited over it and recognised that it is his bag. Can see his love for bags, like mummy right? Haha...

Mum's 1st Day Of Radiotherapy

My mum went for her 1st treatment today, after sending Kyrell to his school, hubby dropped me at SGH to meet my parents. The treatment took less 45mins, no pain or discomfort. Then we went for lunch at the canteen before we go pick Kyrell up.

Napping at my mum's place...

Back at home in his playyard, surprisingly, Kyrell can still squeeze into his Bumbo seat! He likes to sit there when 'reading'.

Check Up + School Bag

Mum has to go for 2 check-ups today, I brought Kyrell along after his half-day care. We had lunch at TCC Velocity. I ordered a salmon pasta + berries juice. Kyrell loves them and ate quite a good portion of my salmon away!! He even refused to part his mouth from the straw when he drank the juice hehe... When he is full, he drop right off to sleep in his stroller. And I have a moment of peace to finish up my lunch :)

Kyrell was still sleeping when we took a cab there, was sleeping through the 1st check-up in fact. The 1st check-up was at the NCC, it is to make sure the alignment for my mum's upcoming scanning is in place. It was a quick one, we wer done within 45 mins of waiting + scanning. All's well, she will start her radiotherapy on 21 Aug.

The 2nd check up was to check her stoma/PCN with Dr Lim JF. He told my mum that she will have to go back a month after her radiotherapy is complete, to access whether the external bags can be removed and have all things sorted out. The schedule is on 11 Nov.

I told him that my mum seems to have some kind of brownish discharge from her PCN, he commented that it is norm, when the tube has contact with our skin, sometimes our skin will reject the foreign material. It is a way to repel. It has absolute NOTHING to do with what we eat, not because of egg or seafood, in fact, he said it is NONSENSE!! haha... tell that to my hubby (he has been watching my mum on her diet) and he would not agree :p

We were back to my mum's around 5pm and Kyrell can't wait to get down to his toys.

This is the school bag which I bought, cute? I do not usually let Kyrell carry it because it is quite heavy. But here, I took out some of the stuffs so he can parade around~

Happy Birthday...

Nope, its not Kyrell's birthday - yet.. its the song that he danced to. Its coming from a machine from the build-a-bear @ United Sq. Everyday after I fetch Kyrell from his sch, I will bring him for a short walk at United Sq or Novena Sq, as a reward of him being a good boy or to exhaust him so that he will knock out in my workplace >_<

See him in action! Unfortunately I cannot capture much of him dancing cos his girl came along and do not want to share it with Kyrell, she kept holding on to the button and do not want Kyrell to play..poor boy.. after a few failed attempt to press the button, he looked sad and so I pulled him away.

Pix to show how Kyrell messed up while having bread at my workplace :(

Update In School

I was late to pick Kyrell up today, my office had a last min lunch as suggested by my boss. It is an anniversary lunch celebration for me (1 year) and my colleague Jewel (2 years). We went to the Japanese restaurant - Nara - downstairs for a quick meal but don't be mistaken, the meal is surely not of low standard. On the contrary, it was very yummy! We have dined here before and liked the quality. The sashimi was very fresh, even the dishes like sushi, unagi was good.

At about 1255pm, I rushed off to pick Kyrell up. I knew that he will be the last in class and I do not want him to feel that I have abandoned him. Sure enough, he was the last one when I reached. He was holding to teacher Ain's hand and walking around, most of the full day class kids were asleep. He did not realised I was behind him. From what I observed, he seemed very at home, walking around and when one of the full day class teacher was talking photo for one of her student, he kay-pohed and walked over to look at the pix taken. He said "aiyoh" haha... then teacher Ain hugged him and they took a pix together. He was totally at ease with it! Then walked over to check the pix, he said "baby!". Principal Amanda was there too and she said "you are no longer a baby". I was abit embarrassed because this is what we call him :p

Then he said "mummy". I sneaked beside him and say "this is not mummy" - thinking that he has said that teacher Ain was his mummy. Then I realised that I was actually captured in the pix, standing at the back, my baby is not wrong! He was surprised to see me and called "mummy!!" BUT he is not crying anymore :)

I had a long chat with teacher Ain before leaving. She said Kyrell was doing very well, stopped crying shortly I left. He kept calling his classmate "Maxim" and they seem to enjoy each other's company. And Maxim even hugged Kyrell which he rarely did, according to the teacher, he only do that to 'selected' friends woh. Too bad he is returning back to his country end of this month. I wonder if Kyrell will missed him.

Oh, another thing which the teacher told me, after the incident where Kyrell 'told' Maxim off for pushing, Maxim seem 'afraid' of Kyrell and does not bully him. Everytime he bully other kids and Kyrell was around, he will run off!! Haha this was so funny!! And I am so proud of my boy, really :)

During meal time, teacher Ain told me that Kyrell will sit on his chair and he knew to pull his chair in and placed the bowl near him (to which I have told him but I did not specifically stressed on), so my little boy did listen to me whenever I teach him. And when self-feed, he is able to put the food into his mouth and not make a big mess of dropping the food, of cos, towards the end, he will play around with the food :p

In all aspect, I think Kyrell is adjusting well to his life there and he is growing more and more independently. Ie He likes to hold his spoon/fork now. Hearing what the teacher has updated me, I felt comforted at his maturity but on the other hand, I missed seeing all this :(
